Membership in the Empire State Association of Assisted Living is open to operators of licensed Adult Homes, Enriched Housing Programs and Assisted Living Residences in New York State, and to any individual, company or corporation that has an interest or is involved in assisted living in New York State. The Association offers two types of membership. 

Provider Membership

Provider Membership is ideal for licensed exisiting or prospective Assisted Living Residence (ALR and EALR), Assisted Living Program (ALP) Memory Care (SNALR) or Adult Home’s seeking to:

  • Play an active role in shaping the future of these models of care
  • Ensure compliance with laws not yet in regulation
  • Gain access to “members only tools”, information, and technical support
  • Utilize timely education, peer networking, and professional development

Industry Partner Membership

Industry Partner members are appropriate for any individual or entity that provides goods or services to the senior living field. ESAAL Industry Partner membership is ideal for companies seeking to:

  • Market products and services to Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Adult Home providers
  • Gain recognition as a company committed to these models of care
  • Keep informed on industry needs
  • Maximize visibility through trade shows, advertising, and sponsorships

Membership Criteria

All applicants are reviewed and considered by the Association's Board of Directors.

APPLICANT MUST JOIN ALL OF ITS ADULT HOME, ENRICHED HOUSING, ASSISTED LIVING RESIDENCES AND ASSISTED LIVING PROGRAMS THAT OPERATE IN NEW YORK.

Membership policy per the ESAAL Bylaws: If a member, or any entity in which a member or the principals of such member shall have an ownership interest of ten (10%) percent or more, is the licensed operator of, administrator of, or provides management or administrative services to a licensed NY adult care facility, then each of such above-referenced facilities must join and become members of ESAAL.
