Here are just a few of the benefits available to ESAAL Provider Members

ESAAL has been guiding and influencing the Adult Care Facility/Assisted Living industry in New York for more than 30 years and is the largest statewide association exclusively specializing in Assisted Living.

Policy and Regulatory Analysis
ESAAL provides members with technical assistance on regulatory and operational questions – COVID and non-COVID.

NYS Department of Health regulations are complex – to say the least. We provide sample policies, guidance, emergency preparedness plans & assistance with Plans of Correction.

Surveyors in your residence? Compliance issues? We’ll react quickly to your needs. When you have a regulatory or interpretation question, just pick up the phone – we’re here for you.

Expertise in all Models of Care
Whether you are an independent Adult Care/Assisted Living community or part of a regional or national group of providers, ESAAL’s got you covered. Whether you specialize in Assisted Living Residence (ALR, EALR) Memory Care (SNALR), the Medicaid-funded Assisted Living Program (ALP and Licensed Home Care Services Agency [LHCSA]) or as an Adult Home or Enriched Housing Program, ESAAL excels in the nuances of each licensure and certification type and can guide you in all your operational and compliance needs.

In addition to our annual conference for all models of care, ESAAL offers dedicated ALR and ALP Conferences held bi-annually.

Advocacy
ESAAL’s advocacy is focused on the representation of communities who provide person-centered care that offers choice and independence to residents. We, working with our government relations team at Hinman Straub, are viewed and respected as New York State’s Assisted Living leader and voice, and our organization successfully represents its members before the New York Legislature, Department of Health Adult Care Facility/Assisted Living Licensure and Surveillance, Office of Medicaid Inspector General, and other state entities involved in the development of assisted living policy.

We provide opportunities for members to meet with their legislators and influence the future of Assisted Living.

Information
ESAAL provides members with regular updates on critical issues in timely member alerts. ESAAL works directly with the NYS Department of Health and the Office of Long-Term Care. We keep you informed of DOH decisions, reporting deadlines, Dear Administrator Letters (with interpretation and legal analysis), and other important announcements and opportunities.

Education
Have your staff keep their required CEUs up to date with our continuing education programs.
One-on-one training, dedicated Case Management & ACF regulatory training, annual conference filled with expert presentations, and regional meetings are offered through the year. In addition, we offer a virtual bi-weekly member meeting every other Friday to keep members informed on the most important issues of the day, COVID and non-COVID!

Public Relations
ESAAL has dedicated resources designed to educate stakeholders, including legislators, on what Assisted Living is and what it is not (Nursing Homes). Using public relations strategies and digital marketing strategies, our goal is always to promote our industry as an accessible, affordable and desirable housing choice for seniors who need personalized supportive services in a safe and person-centered home and community.
